In this role, I lead on and deliver all aspects of the communications and engagement strategy, building the Charity’s brand and reputation to facilitate the achievement of its strategic objectives. This involves taking ownership for the provision of informative and pioneering communication and engagement programmes that inform, inspire, and connect the Charity to its internal and external communities. This is a key senior management position, working within the Senior Management Team and with the Board of Trustees to facilitate the achievement of the Charity’s priorities through effective leadership and engagement of teams.

I am a communications professional who has gained knowledge and experience through various positions. I now find myself in a director role leading strategic development.My specialities include: strategic management, media relations, public affairs, public relations, crisis communications, internal communications, external communications, corporate communications, stakeholder engagement and reputation management.I approach every task with a level head and an open, creative mindset. I have an extensive array of contacts within the media, politics, business, health and academia. My enthusiasm for the communications profession started pre-employment and influenced my choice of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. My education is ongoing through regular personal/professional development. As a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, I am actively involved in their CPD programme and have achieved Accredited Practitioner status.I am also a Fellow of the RSA.My interest in communications and strategic development extends outside of my employment. In a voluntary capacity, I have undertaken various governance roles within Welsh Higher Education and the charitable sector. I also spent five years as Director of TEDxSwansea, a part of the global phenomenon that is TED – a conference of talks designed to share ideas.
