As a Satellite Deployment Node (SDN) ISSO I am required to maintain the expertise, skill sets and detailed knowledge to conduct technical improvements and manage the security aspects of all the Information Systems (IS) within the SDN program.• Ensured that the appropriate operational security posture is maintained for all IS in the SDN Family of Systems (FoS), working in close collaboration with the Project Managers/Field Service Representatives (FSR) and commercial venders.• Custom built, restored and maintained various levels of classified images for the USSOCOM SDN C5ISR communication program.• Continued to update and utilize Red Hat Linux OS for use of Tenable Security Center and Nessus vulnerability scanner to conduct ACAS vulnerability scans on workstations.• Installed Trellix agents as well as researched, downloaded and installed all application patch updates to remediate any vulnerability found through the ACAS scan.• Downloaded and installed current versions of DISA’s SCAP Compliance Scanner and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) to perform Benchmark automated scans on workstations and manual checks on all systems, CISCO routers, switches, and firewall configurations.• Updated the SDN Remediation Report and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA & M) spreadsheet to provide insight to SOCOM of the current vulnerabilities found on the systems and the efforts that took place to remediate the system of those vulnerabilities.
