Steve Hankins and Ross McKenzie, both based with their families in Kansas City, MO, have been good friends for many years. While busy with full time jobs, they recognized a mutual interest in creating children\'s books combining Steve\'s creative writing hobby and Ross\'s talents in illustration. Their first project together,\"Pete the Pigeon\", was created as a birthday gift for Steve\'s three-year-old niece, and is based on a real pigeon who graced his in-laws\' family farm in rural Nebraska! They opted to create additional titles from there and a new venture was born. Pete came \"Travis the Toy Monster\", a mischievous monster with an appetite for toys left out at night, teaches a little girl about cleaning up her messes before bed.
