A reader is the role between Senior Lecturer and Full Professor requiring almost the same standards for promotion as for professor. In some institutions a reader is encouraged to focus on research by doing less teaching (not in my case!), but there\'s some flavour of that emphasis in the expectations of those in the rolePreviously I\'ve been A Senior Lecturer, and before that a Lecturer in the Marketing.
