ABOUT STEPHEN SMITH

Mr. Stephen T. Smith is a retired IT Client Relationship Professional who specialized in Cloud Platform Solutions, Data and AI solutions for Financial Crimes, Insurance Fraud, Payments Fraud, Information Management & Governance, Big Data, and Analytics. Mr. Smith has 25+ years of experience, the last 17 years with IBM, effectively defining, selling, and ensuring successful implementation of these solutions covering all phases of the sales and solution delivery life cycles.Over the last two years, Mr. Smith was crucial in establishing and managing a global strategic partnership with one of the world’s largest Global System Integrators to bring a cloud-based Financial Crimes service to the P&C insurance market. To drive success through the partnership, Mr. Smith took the reins of the Global Business Development Leader role for the counter fraud solution recognized for its excellence with the global IBM Beacon Award for Hybrid Cloud Ecosystem Best Value in 2021. In March 2022, Mr. Smith pivoted to drive the adoption of IBM Cloud Services through the partnership in all industries and expand beyond the initial use case.In January 2019, Mr. Smith became the WW Software Sales Leader for the Financial Crimes Insight for Insurance platform in the IBM\'s Data and AI (Artificial Intelligence) business. Mr. Smith is working closely with insurance companies worldwide to define how IBM can help them establish successful counter fraud and financial crimes programs across business lines and functional areas. Previously, in April 2018, Mr. Smith took on worldwide responsibility for all services engagements and opportunities in the IBM Counter Fraud Software segment after having moved into the newly-formed key business unit in January 2016 as a WW Services Sales Specialist. Mr. Smith joined the IBM Safer Planet organization in April 2015 with the objective to grow the presence of IBM Counter Fraud Management and i2 investigative solutions across the globe through successful deployments. Over the previous 4 years as the IBM Information Management Services Sales Specialist for Canada and the Caribbean, Mr. Smith significantly grew the annual contract signings by managing dozens of opportunities at a time and generating a very high win rate. During the 3 years prior, Mr. Smith expanded the reach of IBM Business Analytics as a Client Director and GBS Business Development Manager. Prior to joining IBM, Mr. Smith helped grow an award-winning IBM Analytics Business Partner to 10 times its original size as a Managing Partner.
