ABOUT STEPHEN SHEW
Stephen Shew is Director of Standards at Ciena. He manages standards strategy, contributes to standards development, and is an inventor. He is currently the Rapporteur of Question 12 (Transport network architectures) in ITU-T Study Group 15. He served for 5 years on the OIF board of directors. Previous to Ciena he was at Nortel for 24 years where he participated in the development and specification of optical control plane architecture, distributed routing protocols, traffic engineering optimization tools, ATM PNNI, and MPLS signalling. His standards involvement has included the ATM Forum and IETF. Stephen received his Bachelor of Computer Science from Carleton University and MSc from the University of Toronto.
