WHAT DO I DO?I act as an outsourced GC for private capital funds and family offices. In particular, I specialise in helping US funds and family offices expanding their global footprint to cover the UK and Europe, turn investment ideas into viable operational arrangements and legal structures, and then help them to build, operate and exit from the investments. I am sector and geography agnostic - the client is my product. Serving as a Board Member for Great Ormond Street Hospital\'s Corporate Partnerships Board, I leverage my corporate expertise to foster lasting partnerships with companies, financial institutions and philanthropists that benefit the non-profit sector. WHY AM I DIFFERENT?I build relationships that last - for example, I have been the outsourced GC for one of the oldest and largest US-headquartered multi-strat funds groups for its UK, EU and Asia-Pacific portfolio of investments (e.g. sports, litigation funding, insurance, retail, real estate, hotels, gaming, structured finance) for over 18 years. I am known for leaving no stone unturned, my attention to detail and leading teams on high value and complex investments and corporate structures. I act as a cornerstone advisor, supporting investors and boards throughout the full life cycle of an investment. I take the time to understand the - often competing - advice and objectives of all of the different advisors and teams involved, asking the right questions, being adept at cutting through to the crux of the matter and being highly skilled at ensuring that all of the commercial and legal complications of investments and corporate groups work together and seamlessly. HOW CAN I HELP YOU?Having worked in the private capital world for over 20 years, I have a significant network and an in-depth understanding of which advisors will suit which investors, family offices and corporates. I continue to travel the world to expand that network and keep on top of the latest trends within sectors and advisors to ensure that I offer the best connections possible to clients. At A&O Shearman, we cover 99% of the world\'s GDP, which gives me a truly global address book and direct access to legal experts in every specialist area around the world. The aim is for clients to just have to make one call to me and know that I will either connect them with the right expert if they wish to deal directly, or I will be an extension of the client\'s team and act as their quarterback and oversee the matter from start to finish.
