ABOUT SOPHIE BRINKERINK
Hello, I am Sophie Brinkerink, 32 years old, and I chose a career in events and marketing because I love everything having to do with culture and people. Music, sports, history, science, architecture, movies, and art are, in my opinion, the things that bring people from all walks of life together and give beauty to the world. And especially now, in a world that is so divided, I think we could all use a little more beauty and togetherness. Growing up I decided that I wanted to work in a field where I could make other people happy while doing something I was passionate about. That’s how I ended up in entertainment/marketing management. I am also a firm believer in knowledge being power, and that there is always more than one side to a story, sparking my interest in reading and research. I like to find the truth in things while working at a company that shares my beliefs. Putting my analytical talents to work in a creative way. My preference for work lies in market research, online marketing, thought leadership, coaching, event management, and music supervision. My first love in life has always been music. As a little girl, I’d spend hours and hours singing and dancing in my room - as I’m writing this I realize that hasn’t really changed - which manifested itself in ballet and street dance lessons. As for my taste in music, Quincy Jones said it best: “There’s only two types of music, good music, and bad music.” A sentiment I share, so I don’t discriminate by genre or time period in my music choices. I rarely leave the house without my headphones. Listening to music is my form of meditation. Second to that is my love for sports. Not really watching them on TV, but participating in them. Combining strategy with physicality. I used to swim competitively, I played softball at a high level, I go cycling with my dad, and obviously the dancing. I’m pretty much in for anything active! I\'d like to tell you more, but I just reached the LinkedIn character limit;)
