ABOUT SIMON GOLDSMITH
I lead information security at digital native, UK energy retailer OVO. I have worked with CEOs, Boards, and Ministers of State in UK, Asia, mainland Europe and Middle East to wire their organisations and technology for security success according to their specific business, regulatory and threat context. I have been in security and technology for over 24 years across multiple sectors. I specialise in security transformation from pre-IPO technology companies implementing a first security programme to large listed corporates moving to cloud native engineering practices.I have led the strategic development and operational execution of information security programmes for governmental organisations, financial institutions, global retail, and energy companies. I have advised boards and executive committees on cyber security risk and regulatory compliance management and led engineering teams securing cloud (AWS, Azure and GCP) as well as on-premises tech stacks. As a chartered mechanical engineer I also ‘returned to the tools’ securing operational technology in the energy sector. I co-authored the 32•••••21 International Standard for DevOps, am a founding consortium member of AIUC-1, am a member of the Chartered Institute of Information Security and both a Chartered Cyber Security Professional and a Chartered Engineer.
