As Chief Bot Whisperer at Naked AI I work with boards and senior leaders on how — and whether — to use AI in regulated and high-consequence environments.The focus is not on tools. It is on understanding where AI meaningfully affects decisions, what risks that introduces, and what structure is required before reliance increases. This includes architecture, data provenance and sovereignty, security, explainability, and accountability.Engagements typically start by examining how decisions are actually made today, where AI is being introduced informally, and what second-order effects are likely to follow. In many cases, the right outcome is to limit or defer AI use until the organisation or data is ready.Where AI is adopted, I support the design of systems that can be inspected, explained, and defended over time — including in audit and regulatory contexts.I also work directly with boards and leadership teams to build shared understanding of AI risk, governance obligations, and long-term system impact.

I’ve spent more than three decades working at the intersection of technology, operations, and decision-making — long enough to see how quickly useful tools become relied upon, and how quietly risk accumulates when systems aren’t designed with intent.Today at Naked AI I help organisations navigate AI adoption with clarity and discipline. That means asking the questions that matter early: what problem are we actually solving, how will this system be used in practice, and what structure is required for its outputs to be trusted and sustained.Earlier in my career, I worked in environments where analytical models informed decisions with real, irreversible consequences — an experience that shaped how I think about explainability, accountability, and system design- AI Models answer questions. AI Architecture determines whether the answers can be trusted.Alongside this, I’m developing DreamCatcher — a longer-term exploration into the deeper impacts of AI on cooperation, trust, and decision-making. It looks at how explicit architecture, attribution, and governance can reduce friction between people and organisations as AI systems increasingly influence outcomes.I\'m always open to speak with leaders who work on AI with an aim of having it work competently and justly.
