ABOUT SLAWOMIR GRENDA
As the Reduction Group Head at Kubikenborg Aluminium AB, I manage a team of about 180 people across three potlines and 280 pots with two different technologies. I also oversee the Anode Rodding Shop, the Cathode Rodding Shop, and the Pots Relining. I have over 28 years of experience in process and operation management in the aluminium smelter industry, with a bachelor\'s degree in non-ferrous metallurgical engineering and a postgraduate diploma in human management.My core competencies include process control, operations management, predictive maintenance, and quality management. I am passionate about improving the efficiency, productivity, and sustainability of the aluminium smelting process, as well as developing and mentoring the next generation of engineers and operators. Before joining Kubikenborg Aluminium AB, I was the technical manager of the AP 50xe project, a greenfield aluminium smelter in Vietnam, where I led all technical aspects, coordinated all EPC contractors, prepared the smelter for start-up, and trained and transferred knowledge to local staff. I also have experience in rebuilding and restarting pots after a power failure.
