ABOUT SKIPP ESQUIERDO

As a seasoned Production Manager at Tesla, my leadership extends over a robust team, driving the launch and ramp-up of the Model Y. My focus is on process improvement, quality control, and team development, ensuring that our production associates, team leads, supervisors, and managers align with Tesla\'s high standards. My recent accomplishments include pioneering the shift quality SOP and partnering with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency. This initiative resulted in leading the Model Y team to achieve outstanding quality and rate metrics. With a deep commitment to excellence and collaborative progress, my mission is to innovate and elevate manufacturing processes continually.This experience carried over with me to Kindred Motorworks, where I have helped shape the general assembly and electrical systems department by standardizing workflow and process, creating quality specifications for finished vehicles, and a quality tracking SOP. With the help of my team we have dramatically improved overall build quality by minimizing hours per vehicle, cutting re work time in half, and delivering a vehicle with quality superior to prior builds. My extensive background in automotive manufacturing, racing and high performance and general repair combined with 20+ years of leadership experience ranging from sales, operations, production and manufacturing leadership, supply chain and labor relations, has help make lasting and sustainable contributions to every organization I have worked for.
