ABOUT SISI LI
I am passionate about psychedelic treatments of psychiatric disorders. I want to use my skillset and experiences to help the public domain, stimulate new innovations around psychedelic applications and enable fair approval of psychedelic-based treatments for clinical use. I have a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My research focused on better understanding of the molecular mechanisms that cause depression and anxiety disorders. Post graduate school, I worked for 3 years as an R&D research scientist at a prostate cancer diagnostics biohealth startup Gregor Diagnostics. I was the second employee at the startup after the founder. My expertise in the role included technical scientific writing, assay development, design and execution of clinical studies, project management, and grant writing.During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had time to reflect deeply on my values and career goals and I realized my calling ultimately lies in the field of mental health. I believe that the synergy of my research and communication expertise in both academia and industry in combination with my personal experience make me an ideal candidate in the field of clinical use of psychedelics.Porta Sophia is a non-profit created for patent reviewers around the world to help them find relevant prior art in the field of psychedelics. Porta Sophia is affiliated with the Usona Institute, who\'s mission is to conduct and support pre-clinical and clinical research to further the understanding of the therapeutic effects of psilocybin and other consciousness-expanding medicines. In my role as a data architect at Porta Sophia, I participate in multi-disciplinary projects related to the Porta Sophia program. Define and execute the data curation and data archival strategies to build a comprehensive and easy to use Psychedelic Prior Art Library. The mission of Porta Sophia is to protect innovation surrounding psychedelics as well as the patients who will someday benefit from their therapeutic use.
