SMSTUDIO is a multi-disciplinary design practice based in Vancouver. We believe in the power of architecture and the objects we interact with to shape our experience of the world. Our aesthetic is rooted in minimalism, devoid of unnecessary elements but rich in the dynamic interplay of materials.We are a boutique studio, but take on projects of all scales and typologies. We design cabins, single family houses and commercial spaces, furniture and products. Every project we take on is different, but our approach remains the same.SMSTUDIO is lead by Simon Montgomery. Simon has over a decade of with a focus on designing modern, single family houses. An underlying theme in his work is the continual exploration of craft, minimalism and the relationship between art and architecture. He holds a Masters of Architecture degree from the University of British Columbia and is a member of the Royal Architecture Institute of Canada.
