ABOUT SIMON MAECHLING
As an Innovation Manager at Bayer Crop Science, I leverage my PhD in Organic Chemistry and over 20 years of experience in Crop Protection R&D to identify and foster strategic partnerships around the globe. My role supports both internal and external innovation programs, aiming to accelerate Bayer’s industry-leading R&D pipeline and deliver cutting-edge solutions for agriculture.I am passionate about creating value through open innovation and pre-competitive collaboration, viewing them as driving forces for scientific discovery and advancement. I have contributed to over 40 patent applications and 14 original research publications in peer-reviewed journals, demonstrating my expertise and creativity in the field of fungicide chemistry. Based at LifeHub Lyon in France, I actively engage with the scientific community and the public on social media, sharing insights and perspectives on Science, Innovation, and Agriculture. In my free time, I enjoy playing and listening to music, especially jazz and classical genres.
