Senior User and strategic lead for the programme delivering next-generation biosecurity and bio-containment facilities for defence and security. Accountable to the Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) and Dstl Chief Executive, I provide high-level scientific oversight, user representation and policy guidance to ensure the UK’s future capability is world-class, compliant, and operationally effective. Key responsibilities include:• Represent and align scientific, operational and policy needs across Defence, Government, and Biosecurity Stakeholders.• Champion innovation and the adoption of new technology and advanced scientific methods to future-proof UK capability.• Lead collaboration with stakeholders across government and external organisations, maximising shared learning and driving increased resilience across the national biosecurity network.• Assure delivery against business case, safety case and regulatory requirements.• Shape transition from legacy to new facilities, ensuring safe, efficient migration of critical national security capabilities.• Co-Development of building hand-over, entry into service and migration of end-users into the new facilities in line with the construction project, facilities management and end user teams.• Create a positive working environment which supports diversity and inclusion, and enables people to excel.• Foster an inclusive working environment where open communication and psychological safety are prioritised to encourage constructive feedback and continuous improvement.• Ensure that all team members understand and meet their defined accountabilities, regularly reviewing performance and providing necessary support and training to uphold business standards.
