ABOUT SHERWIN SHAHIDI
As Head of Production Technology, I help media companies and tech startups get the most out of technology to boost efficiency and drive sustainable growth. I drive software development, tech product development, and data pipeline strategy while leading cross-functional teams through collaborative leadership and a culture of fearless innovation. Spanning 15+ years, I have worked with major film studios and cutting-edge tech companies such as Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic, Technicolor, Animal Logic, and Core Digital. I have led talented teams of developers, engineers, artists, and technicians in Toronto, Singapore, and Sydney. I have helped studios, tech startups, and ad agencies leverage AR (augmented reality), VR (virtual reality), and algorithmic technology. Through my leadership, I have led the creation of digital simulation for feature films, animation, and dynamic ads. I have also been at the forefront of helping governments and municipalities to improve infrastructure to make it faster, safer, and more cost-efficiently. I’m particularly proud of the following achievements: Drove research and content development on Netflix, Showtime, Amazon Prime, Lucasfilm, and Paramount. Contributed code to Lucasfilm\'s technical Oscar-winning software in 2016 for digital muscle simulation on a creature in an $85MM feature. Saved $1.6MM+ by pooling digital assets, tools, and opportunities to recycle solutions and resources.
