ABOUT SKYLER FINES

A Technical Artist/Creature TD/Technical Director. I have worked in vfx, software and games from broad pipeline and development roles to more specialized facial rigging and rigging tool development roles. I have a passion for automating workflows. I am proficient in Maya commands, Python, PyQt, with working knowledge of the Maya API (Open Maya). I am also comfortable working in Linux, Git and ShotGrid (previously Shotgun). With my contrasting technical and artistic background, I continue to progress towards pushing my limits and being involved in innovative solutions in vfx. I am self-taught and my swift progression in the industry demonstrates that I am self-motivated with the ability to learn quickly, communicate effectively, and continue to show drive to expand my knowledge and skills. In addition, I have several years experience as a Kinesiologist, which gives me a unique perspective on anatomy and biomechanics that I can successfully apply to my VFX work.
