I serve as Assessment Coordinator for the undergraduate Journalism (2024-present) and undergraduate Speech Communication (20••••25) majors, leading annual program-level assessment of student learning. Coordinate faculty-driven assessment planning, evidence collection, data analysis, and reporting to support continuous curricular improvement, program effectiveness, and accountability. Partner with faculty to refine student learning outcomes, strengthen assessment processes, and use findings to inform program improvement.Key Responsibilities & Achievements:• Lead annual assessment for the undergraduate Journalism and Speech Communication programs, ensuring that program-level student learning outcomes are assessed, documented, and reported.• Improve and revise assessment plans to strengthen the alignment between learning outcomes, curriculum, and evidence of student achievement.• Rewrite student learning outcomes and collaborate with faculty to refine and formally approve revised outcomes through departmental voting processes.• Build rubrics for courses and assessment activities to support clearer, more consistent evaluation of student learning.• Coordinate faculty meetings focused on assessment planning, review of findings, and decision making about program improvement.• Collect, synthesize, and interpret assessment evidence across courses and faculty contributors.• Analyze assessment findings and translate results into actionable recommendations for curriculum, teaching, and program improvement.• Prepare and submit annual assessment reports ahead of deadlines in accordance with university processes and expectations.• Support a culture of evidence-based decision-making and continuous improvement across both majors.
