ABOUT SHANNON CORY

Shannon Cory is President of 5 Star Environmental Services, LLC. and has been performing residential inspections in the metro Atlanta areas since 1998 and is retired from home inspections, and only does environmental like IAQ and Radon. Most of Shannon’s success has been from his innovative reporting methods, marketing techniques and continuing educational programs. Some of his past back ground, which helped him make the decision to become a home inspector was while growing up in North Alabama Shannon assisted his grandfather who built custom homes. Due to the quality of the construction many of these homes appear still structurally sound today. Prior to moving to Georgia in 1979, Shannon spent 13 ½ years with Lamont Doherty Geological Observatory of Columbia University as a technician and research engineer building structures for seismic sites around the world. Shannon is a member of or holds certifications in or certificates in the following: Building Officials and Code Administrators International (BOCA), Exterior Design Institute(EDI), Southern Building Code Congress International(SBCCI), International Code Council(ICC), Mold & Healthy Home, National Radon Proficiency Program(NRPP) as a residential Measurement Provider, Mold Surveying and Sampling, and Thermography Building Science. Shannon presently is a member of many of the local real estate associations as an affiliate. Member of ASHI National, As a member of ASHI Georgia, past president, vice-president and co-chair for the membership of ASHI Georgia, and 20••••07 years Immediate Past President of ASHI Georgia. Shannon has been with Kaplan/ITA as an instructor since October 2003 to December 2008. Instructor with Cornerstone Home Inspectors Training 2009 to 2012.Specialties: Environmental Services, New Construction, Radon Measurements, Thermography, Energy Audits, and Commercial Evaluation.
