ABOUT SERGIO PAGLIAZZI

As a highly experienced engineer and recent MBA graduate, I bring over 9 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and innovative startups to the table. My diverse background as a business strategy manager with technical, financial, and strategic skills has allowed me to excel in various roles, from leading teams in multinational companies to managing early stage firms. With a strong understanding of business operations and lean methodology, I have a passion for applying innovative tools such as AI and Big Data to the life sciences. My focus is on corporate finance, specifically in fostering the growth of high-potential companies through M&A and venture capital opportunities in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical cannabis sectors. Throughout my career, I have demonstrated my ability to drive results. As the leader of a pharmaceutical team, I successfully implemented a continuous process improvement system and managed a high-priority industrialization plan, contributing to the construction of a GMP protein purification plant costing €70m. In my role as director of early stage firms, I created operational flows from the ground up and facilitated the installation, commissioning, and operations on 5 continents, producing several tons of cannabis oil and APIs. In addition to my experience in the pharmaceutical industry, I have a proven track record of success in other areas. I restructured the operations of a major beauty company, resulting in a 250% increase in revenue and a 75% reduction in Opex. I also started a GLP-certified analytical laboratory, a research and development company, and an automated indoor production facility, among other ventures. With my MBA, I have rekindled my passion for making a positive impact in the world.
