I’m a Ph.D. economist and strategic advisor with over 12 years of experience working across regulatory agencies, global consulting firms, and mission-driven nonprofits. I specialize in using data, economic analysis, and critical thinking to inform high-impact decisions.Originally from Turkey, I bring a global perspective to my work. I’ve always been drawn to complex, high-stakes environments where clarity and rigor can improve outcomes. At the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), I served as a Senior Financial Economist, leading economic analysis on major enforcement actions and regulatory initiatives. My work there earned recognition including the SEC Chair’s Award for Excellence.Before joining the SEC, I built a strong foundation in competition economics in the private sector where I led teams in large-scale data analysis, econometric modeling, and strategy development for mergers and cartel investigations. I’ve also advised international regulatory bodies, including supporting the development of merger guidelines for a Middle Eastern competition authority.Currently, I’m a Managing Director at FTI Consulting, leading cross-functional teams on projects involving AI productivity assessment, litigation strategy, regulatory risk, and ESG matters.
