ABOUT SCOTT RIECKHOFF
I love movies.I started in the entertainment industry in 1988 when I went to work for General Cinema at my local movie theater. Learning all facets of theater operation, I worked my way up into management before transferring to the GCC regional office in 1995 where I supported two marketing directors. In 1998, I moved into Distribution for Universal Pictures as a member of the exhibitor relations department. Throughout my career at Universal, I helped forge our path to success through marketing strategy and groundbreaking exhibitor partnerships, and firmly established my reputation as a top-talent team player in my field. I worked my way up over the years, achieving the levels of Director, Vice President and ultimately Senior Vice President of In-Theater Marketing. After the brutal COVID pandemic in 2020, I took on a number of various consultancy roles, including multiple stints at FilmFrog Marketing and at P3 Global Services. Now, in addition to contributing freelance articles for Celluloid Junkie, I am currently working at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema DTLA.
