Providing strategic leadership for innovation and software development of in-theatre technology solutions at AMC Theatres, the largest movie exhibitor in America. This includes responsibility for box office, concession, secure payment devices, handheld iOS application, guest services, dine-in restaurants, bar and kitchen systems (most all of the technology in a modern theatre environment). Simultaneously directed the activities of 5 teams comprised of over 50 people across 3 continents (India, Serbia, Atlanta, and Kansas City). Multiple-million dollar budget responsibilities for projects, people, resources, and infrastructure. Provided leadership on agile methodologies including initial adoption, tuning, scaling and globalizing. Introduced Kanban, Jira, Automated QA, CI/CB methodologies. Increased thoroughput of development and converted from manual to automated testing. Product software responsibility includes Point of Sale, Kiosks, Cinema Management, Usherman Handhelds, and Kitchen Display Systems and peripherals. Modernized entire circuit of over 600 theatres and 10k+ devices including payment processing and securing credit card acceptance at the swipe, dip, and touch to pay. Interfaces with external theatre systems such as website and mobile, partners like Fandango, payment gateway and processing for credit cards, loyalty partners, gift cards and discount/coupons engines/services. Business functionality includes all movie ticket sales, concession sales and food order management, point of sale, payment handling and processing, general ledger, movie performance scheduling, seat reservation, ticket pricing, and seat inventory management as well as tax. Partner with executive technology and business leadership to provide strategic direction product roadmaps and innovation pilots. Significant focus during my tenure on consolidating and modernizing systems. Strategic projects also include the A-List subscription program and a shift to self-service innovation.
