I am passionate about leveraging ethical quality communication for health equity, vaccination, health literacy, and overall well-being. Working in partnership and key stakeholders in the health polity from the community to global level, I strive to improve health and well-being with strategic diplomacy, communication, health literacy & education and multi-sectoral approaches. My academic work as Editor of the Journal of Communication for 27 years has been dedicated to advance and diffuse novel evidence-based approaches. I have developed and co-lead a Health Communication for Social Change masters degree program at CUNY SPH. I have taught and designed health communication courses at Columbia, Yale, Tufts, George Washington University and Emerson College. I have worked in multiple sectors and hope my contributions as Senior Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School publishing Guiding Principles for Multisectoral Engagement for Sustainable Health offer hope for meaningful health progress. During the pandemic, I co-founded CONVINCE(sm)- Covid-19 New Vaccine Information Communication and Engagement- to advance vaccine literacy and uptake.
