Responsible for strategic and operational management of Locomotion, part of the National Railway Museum and member of the Science Museum Group. Located in Shildon, the world\'s first railway town, Locomotion tells the global story of the railways. Taking inspiration from its location, the museum houses over 70 rail vehicles from the national collection, including Sans Pareil (which was built in Shildon and raced against Rocket in the Rainhill trials), Green Arrow, the prototype Deltic, the APT-E and the prototype HST. We have embarked on an ambitious site-wide masterplan which will result in the refurbishment of buildings at the historic end of site, a new building to house more vehicles from the national collection, and greater opportunities for engagement and participation.
