ABOUT SARA J. WILLETT
I’m a senior communications leader with a passion for clarity under pressure and storytelling with purpose. At Chevron, I’ve built a career shaping executive thought leadership, guiding crisis response, and driving integrated messaging strategy across some of the company’s most complex and future-focused business segments — including Midstream operations, New Energies, and global incident response.Currently, I lead Crisis and Emergency Response Communications for Chevron’s corporate affairs function, where I set global strategy, manage a team of crisis professionals, and oversee enterprise-wide training and preparedness. Prior to this, I advised the President of Chevron New Energies, shaping the messaging platform for energy transition efforts and supporting executive visibility across internal and external channels. I’ve also led strategic communications for Chevron’s Midstream segment, uniting diverse business units under a cohesive narrative.Earlier in my career, I directed communications and federal affairs for Marine Well Containment Company (MWCC), served as Corporate Affairs Manager for LyondellBasell, and trained in global media strategy at Weber Shandwick in New York. My work has earned placements in The Today Show, Bloomberg, CNN, NPR, National Geographic, The New York Times, and more — but I measure success by the trust I build, the clarity I bring, and the resilience I help shape.I’m energized by complexity, grounded in empathy, and committed to helping organizations communicate with confidence — especially when it matters most.
