ABOUT SARA GARZA GONZÁLEZ
Currently, responsible for OXXO LATAM Strategic Planning (since late 2022), working in coordination with Colombia, Chile, and Peru to build up challenging plans and manage them accordingly.Before OXXO, I worked with KCS since 2005 (North American Rail transportation), having the great opportunity to hold vital roles in the Strategic Studies, Yield Management, and Marketing departments. In my last position (in KCS) as Market and Pricing Director of Chemical and Petroleum Business Unit, I led a team of professionals located in U.S. and Mexico, responsible for the KCS pricing strategy for the segment. Being one of KCS’ leading strategists for Mexican Energy Reform is for sure one of the most interesting challenges and learning experiences I have had in my professional career, in light of an historic opening of an entire sector of the Mexican economy.My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Administration from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), graduating with honors. I also hold a Master in Business Administration Degree in Global Business and Strategy from EGADE Business School and the Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte; graduating with honors, I had the distinction of being inducted into the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma.Because of my strong leadership skills and rail experience, I was honored to be recognized as one of Progressive Railroading’s Rising Stars of the North American railroad industry (2019); named as a runner-up with honorable mention honors in Railway Age’s 10 Under 40 edition (2019); and recognized as one of the 21 young ascending leaders of the Transportation and Logistics industry in Mexico by T21 Magazine (2017).
