Create a syllabus for online or face-to-face English courses meeting the educational goals and objectives set by the college\'s English departmentTeach the use of whole language to strengthen proficiency in reading and writing for college with an emphasis placed on applying critical reading skills to narrative and expository texts and the writing processTeach students the ability to comprehend, analyze, and evaluate college texts and to compose essays appropriate for college writingEngage in the following General Education Competencies: written communication, understanding social structure, oral communication, problem solving, critical thinking, understanding scientific concepts & application, basic computer usageEngage in productive lesson planning and provide productive classroom instruction by teaching the required curriculum for all assigned courses and selecting coursework that is conducive to the student’s environmentAdminister and grade tests to measure relative skill levels in grammar, reading and essay writingReview student progress and suggest tutoring options provided by the college when necessary Provide office hours and one-on-one assistance for students as needed Perform administrative duties and keep accurate records to manage the learning environment to include enforcing attendance policies and submitting grades and other reports on time(retention reports, testing norming, and special needs reporting)
