My professional interests and experience lie primarily in wastewater treatment design, training engineers, wastewater software design, and strategic initiatives. At HDR I won a Gold Pathfinder award for client development work, led a national team for WW software development, and performed a million* engineering analyses. At AECOM I spearheaded a national team and was on the ground running the first Nereda Aerobic Granular Sludge pilot on the West Coast, at Fairfield-Suisun Sewer District. I prefer to keep my hands dirty in wastewater vis drinking water, but I do work on both sides of the toilet.I love strategic initiatives, rescuing flagging projects, training new engineers, software development, optimizing/automating design and QC processes, and learning. One of my chief skills is learning/synthesizing disparate realms of knowledge, and coming up with potential applications. I hate doing the same thing ad nauseam/manually if it can be automated. At this point in my career, I greatly enjoy working on software solutions to design and analyze efficiently. I think we need to borrow AGILE methodologies for wastewater design, and have experience utilizing Atlassian AGILE software.With the advent of AI I believe the way engineers design/interact with software and data will drastically change, likely impacting the need for entry level engineers/enabling entry-level engineers to reach much greater proficiency much earlier in their careers. To quote the Borg \"Resistance is futile\" in this regard, so I think it is best to adapt. Some simple ways AI will change routine tasks: data extraction and compilation from drawings for asset management and automatically created BIM models for existing infrastructure (and historical models to show development), vendor quote requests, enabling folks to draft without having to know esoteric commands, drafting SOQs, etc.As I search for a new role related to wastewater engineering, I am open to consulting with consultants on streamlining their design processes, engineering roles at Cities and Utilities, Software Development for the wastewater industry, working for another consultant in a group of wastewater engineers, and teaching. Whilst between jobs, I plan to focus my professional development on software dev skills, automation, AI in our industry, data analytics, and trying to teach my 1 year old engineering/physics nomenclature and experiential understanding*Hyperbole
