Provide strategic vision and leadership for a co-curricular center in academic affairs, advancing priorities in academic community engagement, student leadership and civic education, and community development and social transformation- Sustain and enrich Dickinson’s network of local and regional partners by forging multiple modalities for engagement including a community advisory board, action networks mobilizing around common concerns, research or project-based collaborations, and material or resource investments- Develop and implement the CCLA’s student developmental model and student leadership education, which involves spearheading campus-wide initiatives for engagement, designing student leadership retreats, and curricular design- Design, facilitate, and manage all components of the Community Engagement Fellows program, a developmental, cohort-based service program which engages over 20 undergraduate each year in long-term community placements in the local Carlisle region and an interactive civic leadership curriculum- Build and advance strategic partnerships with campus partners from academic and student affairs to develop students’ civic leadership capacities and forge diverse pathways to service at Dickinson, including community-based research, direct service, democratic participation, dialogue and disagreement, policy and local governance, and education- Design and implement assessment of CCLA programs, drawing on continued research and scholarly contributions to the field of higher education- Teach and design community-engaged courses; collaborate on faculty development and academic experiential learning initiatives- Empower and maximize the leadership of professional staff members and a team of over 30 student employees each year- Manage a budget, advancement strategy, and grant funding for the CCLA.
