Responsible for developing the theatre\'s strategy to increase engagement with children and young people and educational institutions both locally and across the region. This role is responsible for creating and delivering a wide range of attainment and aspiration raising projects, working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure University of Wolverhampton objectives are met in line with Access and Participation plans and Knowledge Exchange Frameworks, alongside meeting objectives for Arts Council England\'s Let\'s Create strategy.During my time in this position, the number of young people the Arena Theatre has engaged with has increased from 500 to over per year.Achievements include- Establishing Project Xpedition with partners Flexus Dance Collective, an intensive performance and arts management programme for 11-15 year olds across Wolverhampton and the Black Country- An increase in Arts Award outputs for the Arena Theatre at both Bronze and Silver level- Establishing a partnership with the Wolverhampton Wanderers Foundation with the PACKED OUT! employment programme, giving 18-25 year old NEET young people paid work experience opportunities within the Performing Arts- Building partnerships with Access and Widening Participation at the University of Wolverhampton to ensure the Arena Theatre is a vital contributor to Access and Participation Plans, and Community Engagement objectives - notably the Dance Mentoring Programme with Flexus Dance Collective for target attainment raising schools.

ABOUT SAMANTHA FLEMING
As the Front of House and Education and Outreach Manager at the Arena Theatre, University of Wolverhampton, my role fundamentally encompasses developing strategies to build and enhance youth and community engagement with the arts, removing barriers to access for under-represented and marginalised groups. My expertise in strategy development and partnership cultivation has been instrumental in connecting young people, educational institutions, and community organisations to our dynamic theatre programmes, as well as wider initiatives and departments across the University of Wolverhampton. I have a proven track record of creating, managing and developing sustainable, engaging projects for young people aged 0-25 years old - having increased the Arena\'s engagement from 500 to young people per calendar year - and am passionate in making both the arts and HE accessible to individuals of all ages and backgrounds. I also have a keen interest in post-HE, and exploring stepping stone programmes to ensure Performing Arts graduates can break into the Creative Industries.I have considerable experience in access and widening participation in Higher Education and I work cross-departmentally with colleagues to ensure the Arena Theatre is achieving against University KPIs and contributing to them. My strengths in stakeholder management and relationship building means the Arena is now a key contributor to Access and Participation plans, Community Engagement objectives, the University’s Knowledge Exchange Framework, and HEBCI returns.Further to this, I possess a wealth of knowledge in both operations management and event management, and in my time at the Arena Theatre have streamlined the financial and administrative functions of the organisation - including IR35 processes, invoicing, contract distribution, and communication with companies who hire us. As a Front of House Manager, I am a strong logistician and have a shared responsibility with colleagues for managing and co-ordinating over 200 events per year for the venue.
