ABOUT SAM OSSEIRAN
As the Director of RNA Entrepreneurship at Axelys, I leverage the R&D skills I\'ve honed during my PhD, my 5+ years in various tech startups, as well as my experience in venture development to contribute to building biotech companies from the ground up in the RNA therapeutics space based on innovations from the Quebec academic sector. Prior to my involvement in tech entrepreneurship, I was originally trained as a biomedical engineer with degrees from Polytechnique Montréal (B.Eng.) and MIT (Ph.D.). My academic focuses were in applied biophotonics, cancer research, and signal & image processing. Since graduating in 2018, I gained 5+ years of professional experience in the biotechnology and healthcare sectors, with wide-ranging expertise including experimental design, statistical analysis, review of scientific literature, oral and written communication of scholarly content, data science, applied AI, and project management.
