Axelys is a non-profit organization that accelerates the development and transfer of high-potential innovations from Québec’s public research institutions, with a mission rooted in both economic and social impact.In my role, I contribute to building bridges between public research, entrepreneurship, and innovation support by:🤝 Stakeholder engagement & ecosystem building: Collaborating with researchers, technology transfer offices, innovation brokers, and ecosystem partners to support scientific entrepreneurship across Québec.🧩 Co-founder matchmaking: Leading the development of a digital matchmaking platform to connect scientific founders with entrepreneurial co-founders, inspired by global best practices. Funding strategy & investment readiness: Supporting the preparation of funding applications and the structuring of resources to help research-based innovations move toward market-readiness and investment.🧠 Strategic innovation support: Participating in the evaluation and early strategic planning for innovations emerging from academic research, with a focus on IP, commercialization, and impact potential.

ABOUT ANTOINE JUTRAS-CARIGNAN
I\'m a project manager in entrepreneurship at Axelys, where I support the creation and growth of startups coming out of public research. I focus on co-founder matchmaking, early-stage founder support, and helping scientific innovations move toward commercialization and investment. Before that, I was an investor at Front Row Ventures, Canada’s first student-run VC fund, where I evaluated early-stage startups across all sectors. My background in biology and computer science gives me a soft spot for deeptech and life sciences ventures. I love connecting smart people, structuring ideas, and helping ambitious projects take off.
