Generating designs for Products for both NPI & for enhancement of current products via PLM for both standard and customised engineering solutions using NX 3D modelling software. Also involving DTC, customer-value-add, automated-assembly & process-time reductions. • Managing prototype design & test work packages to OEMs and 3rd party outsources for both service work and component manufacture requiring strong cross-function communication from obtaining quotes to NPI stages.• Design of high-end components for different manufacturing processes with GD & T including supplier DFM involvement.• Thermal flow analysis of electro-mechanical assemblies using NX design software thermal analysis module for stream-lining heat-sink/heat-generating designs and concepts.• Involvement with identifying new suppliers and keeping close contact with current suppliers for both Product-Value-Add, NPI and DTC opportunities & maintaining BOMs• Participation in group project design reviews and concept generation of future product platforms.• Investigating customer-related product quality issues and manufacturing product issues with aim to resolution in a timely manner to meet customer-timescales.• Design of robotic end effectors & involvement in automated assembly investigations for Siemens drive products.• Management and Go-to for 3D FD printing & process technologies & management of Siemens Congleton 3D printing facilities. Includes management of service contracts, machine upgrades and on-site first point-of-call.• Good Knowledge of ISO 52900 Additive Manufacturing General Principles & UL Blue Card system for UL certification of Additive Manufacturing Materials.
