ABOUT SAJJAD AHSAN

I am a highly motivated Medical Biotechnology graduate (Distinction, University of Portsmouth) with expertise in molecular biology, genomics, molecular immunology and clinical pathology. My academic and research experiences have fuelled my passion for cancer genomics, molecular diagnostics, and precision medicine.My research background includes breast and brain cancer studies, where I applied RT-qPCR, SDS-PAGE & Western blotting, immunocytochemistry, and genomic data analysis to investigate tumour progression. My MSc dissertation on matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in medulloblastoma led to novel findings on MMP-16 subcellular localization, showcasing my ability to conduct molecular research, communicating findings, and data-driven analysis.I have hands-on experience in DNA/RNA extraction, cell culture, flow cytometry, and ELISA-based diagnostics, gained through an internship at a leading medical center. Additionally, my experience as a Research Assistant strengthened my skills in meta-analysis, bioinformatics tools (NCBI Blast Suite and ImageJ), and statistical data interpretation for genomics research.Beyond laboratory experience, my role as a Course Representative at the University of Portsmouth enhanced my ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and organize career-focused initiatives.
