ABOUT SAHIL PATEL

Hi! I’m a second-year Software Development student at Seneca Polytechnic, passionate about building real-world solutions with clean, scalable code. Whether I’m refactoring a C++ application, designing a PostgreSQL schema, or integrating Sequelize with a Node.js backend, I enjoy solving problems and learning something new every day. I’m equally comfortable working across the full stack — from responsive React frontends to optimized database queries — and love the challenge of making systems secure, efficient, and user-friendly. What I’ve built: A Secure Authentication System (Python) with salted password hashing & brute-force protection An SQL E-Commerce Sales Analysis system with stored procedures and performance-tuned queries A Pokémon Web App (React + PokeAPI) with caching and responsive UI Library Management Systems in both C++(CLI) and Python/MySQL (GUI) An Eyecare Assistant OpenCV) with real-time face detection & system notifications What I’m learning now: Backend performance with Sequelize and SQL Server Application lifecycle management tools (Visual Studio, TFS) Advanced C++ OOP and design patterns Best practices in secure web development and cloud services Leadership & Collaboration: I serve as Vice President of the Disruptive Technologies Club, where I organize hackathons and workshops for 150+ students, and as a Peer Mentor at Seneca, supporting first-year students with academic success and community building. Currently seeking: A co-op opportunity where I can contribute to real-world IT or software development projects, collaborate with industry professionals, and grow as a full-stack developer.
