ABOUT SAGE BARNETT

Growing up, I was the quiet girl tucked away in a corner with her head between the pages of her favorite short story (I’m still this girl sometimes). I was fascinated by the way stories are crafted, shaped and how they are eventually framed to correspond to specific audiences. This is where my curiosity for communication began. My passion for storytelling inspired me to I trade these short stories for a degree in communication studies. Through many career-applicable courses at JMU, I saw my dreams of one day working in communications become tangible. My experiences resulted in a diverse working background that includes proficiency in copywriting/editing, social media and digital marketing, as well as storytelling both creatively and from a public relations perspective. I thrive off of originating and developing creative solutions that produce a positive and palpable impact and enjoy building and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels. While my dreams of working in communications are tangible, I’m looking to make them a reality! I’m constantly seeking to educate and improve myself through this process and appreciate hearing the experiences of current communications professionals, so feel free to connect with me!
