Purchase / Materials Management: Formulating and implementing the project procurement strategy by developing / modifying strategy for purchase and establishing methods to achieve project targets and resource planning. Accountable for meeting customer orders by designing, implementing and monitoring procurement schedules. establishing quality & quantity limits for effective inventory control and reducing wastage. Streamlining systems and procedures for effective inventory control for ensuring ready availability of materials to meet production targets. Logistics: Sustaining the existing network & managing the supply chain, ensuring timely distribution of the merchandise. Monitoring availability of stock, making appropriate arrangements to ensure on time deliveries. Vendor Development: Assessing the performance of the vendors based on various criterions such as percentage for rejections, quality improvement rate, timely delivery, credit terms, etc. Overseeing follow-up with vendors for engineering deliverable, timely deliveries, quality checks & ensuring timely payments. Monitoring incoming materials supplied by vendors and ensuring they are as per quality & quantity specifications. Assisting vendors in the production processes / systems and providing them suggestions for improving process efficiency. Commercial Operations: Vetting various pre and post shipment documents of import and export and documents / registers pertaining to custom, banks. Preparing MIS reports with a view to apprise top management. Preparing and maintaining requisite documentation for compliance with regulatory requirements. Handling matters pertaining duty free shipments.Maintaining requisite documentation for compliance with regulatory requirements of customs. Inventory / Store Management: Assessing physical layout of warehouse / stores for storage of materials, spare parts & consumables
