In this role I lead a team of server and client developers as we complete a mix of greenfield work, improvements, and maintenance. I also people manage a few developers. My focus is on project requirements refinement, facilitating task breakdowns, running sprints, and ensuring projects run smoothly. To de-risk projects and ensure they hit our demanding quality requirements I’m in constant communication with my leaders, peers and direct reports within the team, as well as with QA, Product and Design. Prior to the official start date of this role, I have been doing this work for most of 2023 and find it immensely challenging, engaging and rewarding. I lead my team with empathy, constantly looking for ways to empower them to do their best work with agency.

I work with growing tech businesses to help them scale their dev team, doing everything from software development to people management. I’ve managed small teams of up to 10 individuals, leading with empathy for my team, the leadership team, and the customer. I believe everyone is capable of growth but might need to follow their own path to realize their potential. I work to enable that potential.Adding team members is always a challenge in a region where companies feel like they’re talent-starved. My interview style has been shown to significantly move the needle from all-male teams to more diverse teams. I don’t prioritize this for the numbers or the PR. I do it because there’s a lot of overlooked talent in underrepresented groups, and - just as important - because the diversity of viewpoints and experiences makes the team better.I’m looking to work with organizations committed to making a significant and positive impact in our region, our country, or even our world. I’m particularly interested in health tech, green tech, social tech, even civics tech. I’m also very interested in micropreneurship.
