Anaplan delivers cloud-based, in-memory business planning and execution for sales, operations, and finance. During my time I have worked in a variety of roles, from a Senior QA Analyst to QA Manager and then after developing a love of coding a Software Engineer and then an Engineering Manager of several teams from Global Logic based in India alongside Anaplan\'s internal intern project based in our York office. I am now the UK Lead Engineer for Anaplan\'s Dev Academy, helping software engineers early in their careers in their first role at Anaplan, working with them on real world projects and mentoring and coaching them before they move into other engineering teams within the company.

ABOUT RUTH LAIRD
I\'ve worked in the IT industry for 20+ years. I began my career in QA and progressed to be a QA manager but as I became more involved in writing automated tests my love for development grew and so I decided to transition to become a software engineer. I love learning new things as so I\'ve relished this career move and have embraced the opportunities to keep developing myself, learning front and back end technologies whilst always being mindful of having relevant testing in place.Outside of work I\'m passionate about helping young people see how great working in IT can be and so I volunteer as a STEM Ambassador where I\'ve run workshops with and delivered presentations to both primary and secondary aged pupils. I also run a coding club as an after school club twice a week at one of my local schools.I am now the UK Lead Engineer for Anaplan\'s Dev Academy, helping software engineers early in their careers in their first role at Anaplan, working with them on real world projects and mentoring and coaching them before they move into other engineering teams within the company.
