Since a graduate student teaching assistant and as outlined below; Teaching, Mentoring etc. was often done separate. Here are activities relevant to i) building/honing my skills and ii) “pay back” responsibilities due to fortunate mentee experiences. The later worth underscoring: Professor O’Connor, directed my extra curriculum research actions while pointing me to a Harvard Ph.D. and beyond; the research served me well, now reflected in my Initiative work above.Important teachings/communications as a practitioner of water resources and environmental planning warrant note: Adjunct Harvard Lecturer for a Regional Environmental Planning course and the teaching of a handful of short courses in European venues; both experiences co-taught with academia cum practitioners.Over time, my activities involved interacting with students of acquaint US academia. While occasionally formal but mostly informal; these highly enjoyable pro bona interactions were numerous, while short. My mentor motivated activities involved graduate students (occasionally the professors too) in specific degrees, courses, research and activities (prize applications).Pertinent to my experiences, is a reality of my time before the “Google age” where published material was not yet digitized and sometimes informative unpublished material such as reports/documents were not readily available; these were referred to as “grey literature” often available at depositories of those that worked on them, collected them in course of their work and entities who funded the work. I possessed a respectable depository, given my diverse work across subjects/geographies, and predilection to save such for future work. I gave access to students/others who required them for academic purposes. With the age of misinformation and AI’s possible ineffectiveness of producing material being constrained by the access to such “undigitized depositories”, I wonder if the extensive culling of mine was premature.
