ABOUT RUNA DAS

I am an Associate Professor in the School of Environment and Sustainability at Royal Roads University in British Columbia, Canada. I hold a PhD in Environmental Applied Science and Management, along with Master’s and undergraduate degrees in Psychology.My interdisciplinary background shapes both my teaching and research, and fuels my enthusiasm for tackling complex sustainability challenges. As an energy transition optimist, I focus on how Canada can move toward more equitable, affordable, and sustainable energy futures. My research explores issues such as regulation, costs, equity, and the everyday realities of energy use and infrastructure, with the aim of bridging academic insight and real-world impact. This work is primarily funded by Canada’s Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). I\'m passionate about collaborating across disciplines and sectors, and about contributing to solutions that make the energy transition possible.
