ABOUT RICHARD KING

I am an ecologist focussing on restoration and enhancement. I have a background primarily in Scottish/UK upland ecology and planning processes for onshore wind, solar, battery storage and large-scale commercial development projects. My passion is ecological conservation and restoration and look for the opportunity in all projects for real, tangible benefit to habitats and species. I provide specialist ecological and ornithological support to both colleagues and clients, completing and reviewing bespoke biodiversity enhancement and management plans, as well as concise, clear impact assessments, HRAs and technical reports. I have direct experience undertaking and managing ecological and ornithological surveys according to established guidance and methods. My time spent assessing baseline conditions and potential development impacts compliments the designing and implementation of effective habitat and species management plans with challenging but achievable objectives. My on-site experience includes; windfarms, onshore cable routes, industrial sites, and large-scale commercial and residential development projects, as well as supporting estate and landowner biodiversity enhancement opportunities.I have taken projects through from conception and feasibility to planning submission, including project direction, survey design, analysis and EIA reporting.
