As a Senior Scientist and Entomology Team Lead at Vectech, I lead efforts in vector identification, data verification, and the creation and cleaning of datasets to improve AI-based mosquito and tick recognition models. My role encompasses conducting and publishing research on vector ecology and machine learning applications in entomology, writing successful grant proposals, and communicating findings to both scientific and public health audiences. I also mentor and supervise employees and interns, providing training in vector identification and research methodologies. As a multi-team collaborator, I work across disciplines with engineers, AI developers, and public health experts to refine and expand Vectech’s vector surveillance platform, merging traditional entomology with cutting-edge technology to advance scalable solutions for disease prevention.
