ABOUT ROSS ANDERSON

My Professional Purpose: to lead or be part of a team that develops new products my company can be proud of. I want to leave a legacy of high quality products that have a positive impact on the end user.As an innovative engineer, I create new products to meet customer requirements. As an engineering manager, I realize there are two timeframes to consider. First, the present where I strive to create a cohesive group that works well together and is focused on the task at hand. Second, the future requires questions. Are we doing the right things? Are we doing them well? Do we have the skills and tools needed so we can achieve the goals we set for ourselves? These answers prepare an organization for the future.Areas of expertise:Project Management: Developing and working the plan is critical. I have been responsible for the project management tasks of nearly all my projects and developed the skills to lead domestic and global cross-functional teams supporting customers with global operations with aggressive schedules.Product Development: Developing new products is the most rewarding aspect to my work. Defining product requirements, analyzing performance, developing tooling and assembly processes, all of these are critical to the success of a new product.Team Leadership: Product development requires the skills and effort from many people. I am adept at bringing people together to successfully complete a project. As a manager, it is important to get to know people on my team and what makes them tick. This helps me understand how to motivate, encourage, reward and develop them.Customer Focus: Everything we do is for a customer, either internal or external. Exceeding their expectations is the key to building a long term relationship that benefits both parties.Core competenciesStage Gate Processes—Project Management—Design & Manufacturing Readiness Reviews—FMEATechnology Forecasting—Data Measurement & Analysis—Plastic Part Design—Engineering Documentation
