ABOUT ROGER HODGKISS

I am an experienced business leader with excellent experience of leading transformations in financial services businesses, especially in Emerging Markets and CEE. Since 2019 I have worked for Generali Poland, first as the Board Member responsible for Sales, and since November 2020 as CEO. During this time we have delivered strong growth and significant improvements in profitability. During my time on the Board of PZU I delivered significant improvements in both Sales and Profitability in the areas for which I was responsible, as well as large increases in market share. During the same period PZU\'s share price significantly improved (+50% since January 2016), and the Board secured PZU\'s S&P Rating at A. During my term at PZU, where I was responsible for the P&C Insurance business, me and my team increased premiums by c. 50%, whilst improving the COR by 7 percentage points. Previously I achieved a material uplift in the value of Link4, which was sold to PZU in 2014 for 90m Euros. This represented a tremendous increase in value during my time as CEO. Whilst my primary focus is always on my own P&L, I am also adept at managing matrices and working within Global businesses, having worked in GE and RSA (formerly Royal and Sun Alliance) for 16 years prior to joining the PZU Group in 2014. I am an engaging leader and firmly believe that engaged employees can deliver amazing results. This is shown by the results achieved by Link4, where both the business performance and employee engagement scores (measured by Gallup) were best in class. Link4 won the prestigious AON Hewitt Best Employer award in both 2013 and 2014. I have learned Polish to further improve my performance and impact in Poland, and am one of the few non-Poles to be approved (twice!) by the KNF to be Prezes/CEO of an Insurance company in Poland. My contribution to the development of the Insurance market in Poland was recognised in 2022 by the award of the Polish Gold Cross of Merit. I have also previously served as an elected member of the Board of the British Polish Chamber of Commerce, and was also an elected member of the Supervisory Board of the Polish Insurance Guarantee Fund (UFG).
