ABOUT ROB HEDRICK
I lead video innovation in environments where complexity is unavoidable and failure is public. My foundation is hands-on: years spent in the truck, on-site, and in live control rooms where every decision affects signal integrity, editorial timing, and audience trust. That experience shapes how I design and lead modern video systems—because I’ve lived the consequences when they don’t hold up.Over 20+ years, I’ve supported and led high-stakes live productions across linear broadcast, digital platforms, and global OTT, trusted by major leagues, networks, and streamers to deliver reliability at scale. Whether managing technical crews, stabilizing workflows in real time, or re-architecting systems under deadline, I operate calmly where pressure is the norm.I’ve worked extensively with IP-based live production in real-world conditions—not just on diagrams. That includes deploying and operating SRT, NDI, JPEG XS, and Zixi in trucks, REMI models, and hybrid cloud environments, making judgment calls on latency, redundancy, compression, and transport based on what the show actually needs. I understand where IP excels, where it breaks, and how to design around both. From traditional SDI to fully IP-enabled workflows, truck to cloud, fiber to frame, my focus is systems thinking: how transport choices, network design, and operational discipline translate into stability, scalability, and editorial flexibility. The goal is never technology for its own sake—it’s predictable performance under real-world conditions. What defines my work is not just execution, but raising the standard: making live video more resilient, more adaptable, and easier to scale without increasing risk. I build teams and infrastructure that perform under peak demand, breaking news, and global distribution—quietly and reliably.Trusted by FOX, NBC, ABC, CNN, ESPN, Sky Sports, and others.
