Tantec- solving the problems of adhesion. Many of the materials used in modern manufacturing processes can be difficult to bond or print onto. Traditional methods of surface treatment such as flame, chemical etching or priming can be harsh, environmentally damaging, not particularly repeatable, and expensive. Plasma and corona surface treatment addresses all these concerns and many of the UK\'s leading manufacturing company\'s now entrust us to provide them with a controlled and verifiable method of surface treatment as befits the nature of their products. As well as increasing the surface energy of substrates so that adhesives and coatings stick better, plasma and corona also cleans the substrate at a molecular level, breaking down and vaporising minute traces of organic contaminants. Plasma and corona surface treatment isn’t always widely known but it is used throughout a wide range of industries with applications including the treatment of high end automotive interiors prior to bonding, treatment of high performance composite components in motorsport and aerospace prior to bonding, treatment of plastic packaging prior to printing or labelling, treatment of plastic syringe barrels prior to printing and treating medical devices to increase the wettability of the internal surfaces to improve liquid flow.
