Lead the Scientific Computing team reporting directly to the CTO and later to the CIO. Responsible for software and development architecture and data strategy supporting lab, field, etc. Led hiring and development of a world-class team of 15+ data scientists, data engineers, LIMS engineers, and software engineers. Developed long-term strategic goals for a data architecture vision, including data governance, and standards in collaboration with internal customers, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders. Prioritized and scoped projects to help our data team members service the needs of PivotBio spanning our product pipeline from microbial discovery to agronomic data analysis to sales data. Worked with the leadership team to help define how data can meet and contribute to our strategic needs. Implemented and supported a highly performant and scalable data platform (databricks/fivetran/tableau) that satisfies reporting, data mining, and advanced analytics use cases.
